These cozy felted slippers are easy to make and a wonderful gift for someone who appreciates hand made items. They are made on a single bed, so no ribber required.
- 200g of worsted weight wool (not superwash treated, we want to it felt!). I used Paton’s Classic Worsted.
I like to make these in two colours, one for the lining and one for the outer, but you can also get very creative with colour blocks or stripes. I have also tried to incorporate fair isle patterns into these slippers but found the felting does distort the pattern quite a bit, so keep that in mind. When using different colours, I would make sure to use the same type of yarn as we want to felting to be uniform.
Although the pattern calls for joining and binding off on the machine, I prefer the seamless look of grafting.
